GEORGE THOROGOOD & THE DESTROYERS
TO APPEAR IN MORGAN FREEMAN'S
"THE CLARKSDALE JOOK JOINT JAM" DVD SERIES;
ICONIC BLUES ACTS TO BE CELEBRATED!

Located just a few blocks from the infamous "Crossroads" in Clarksdale, Mississippi, actor Morgan Freeman's "Ground Zero Blues Club" has hosted many of the genre's finest musicians. Now, some of these iconic acts will be captured on film for a DVD series titled ,"The Clarksdale Jook Joint Jam." GEORGE THOROGOOD & THE DESTROYERS will be the first act chronicled in the insightful collection of DVDs, which will feature full performance sets, guest musicians plus documentary footage.

The goal of the series is to entertain and educate music fans, while chronicling these blues artists, many of whom have had a heavy influence on contemporary musicians. "We need to get these cats on film while we can," says THOROGOOD. "I've had a chance to play with a lot of guys who haven't gotten their due."

For the first installment, THOROGOOD and the DESTROYERS were joined by Chicago blues great Eddie Shaw. The group performed several songs with Eddie, including "Greedy Man," a song The Destroyers covered on their Ride 'Til I Die CD. Upcoming editions of the DVD series will feature Jimmy Thackery, Elvin Bishop, Delaney Bramlett, with many others in the works. Gary and Carol Vincent of Vincent Productions are actively looking to place the series on a syndicated television outlet.

Freeman--along with his partners Bill Luckett and Howard Stovall--opened their club, just across the street from the Delta Blues Museum, opened in 2001. They derived its name from the famed "crossroads" area in Mississippi, which has been dubbed the "Ground zero of the blues." The restaurant has been a feature on 60 Minutes, CNN and ,in 2005 was named one of the "Top 100 Bars And Nightclubs in America."
